Ingredients

  • 1 (3 3/4 to 4 1/2 oz.) package chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 30 vanilla wafers
  • 3 bananas, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Mix pudding mix and milk in a saucepan.
  2. Stir and cook over medium heat until it boils.
  3. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl.
  4. Place wax paper on the surface of the hot pudding to prevent a surface film. Chill.
  5. Line the bottom of a 1-quart casserole dish with vanilla wafers.
  6. Add a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
  7. Pour a layer of chocolate pudding over the bananas.
  8. Repeat layering with wafers, bananas, and pudding until ingredients are gone, ending with pudding on top.
  9. Chill the assembled dessert.
  10. In a bowl, add sugar and vanilla to heavy cream and whip until stiff peaks form.
  11. Spread the whipped cream on top of the layered pudding.
  12. Serve immediately.
