A versatile basic bread dough suitable for decorations and crafts, made with whole wheat flour and salt, easy to customize with color or additional flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. plain whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water

Instructions

  1. You can add 3 tablespoons of instant tea to white flour to give it color.
  2. Dissolve the tea in the warm water.
  3. Mix all ingredients to make dough; knead until smooth.
  4. You may have to add more flour and water to get smooth dough.
  5. Work with a small amount of dough at a time.
  6. Store unused dough in a plastic bag to keep it from drying out until you use it.
  7. Any leftover dough can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
