Ingredients

  • 2 lb. dry pinto beans
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (fresh garlic may be used, if desired)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook dry beans until well done and soft. Cook beans in a large amount of water so juice can be used later on to cook noodles (3 quarts or more).
  2. Pour off bean juice in large heavy pan and set aside.
