Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c. cooked or canned string beans with 1/2 c. liquid

Instructions

  1. Saute bacon in saucepan until almost crisp.
  2. Add the onion; continue cooking until the bacon is done and the onion is a nice tender, golden brown.
  3. Add the flour; blend well.
  4. Stir in the mustard, sugar, salt and pepper.
  5. Last, add the string beans. Simmer for a few minutes to heat through, stirring until smooth. Serves 4.
