- Saute bacon in saucepan until almost crisp.
- Add the onion; continue cooking until the bacon is done and the onion is a nice tender, golden brown.
- Add the flour; blend well.
- Stir in the mustard, sugar, salt and pepper.
- Last, add the string beans. Simmer for a few minutes to heat through, stirring until smooth. Serves 4.
