Ingredients

  • 3 lb. stewing beef
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 oz. can mushroom or 1 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup sherry
  • 1 package onion soup mix

Instructions

  1. Cut the stewing beef into 1-inch cubes and brown them in a skillet.
  2. Transfer the browned beef to a large casserole dish.
  3. Add cream of mushroom soup, sliced mushrooms, and sherry to the casserole.
  4. Mix all ingredients well, cover, and bake approximately 3 hours at 325°F or 4 hours at 300°F.
  5. Serve the beef in sherry over rice.
