Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh turnips
  • 1 fresh apple
  • 2 or 3 tbsp. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the turnips with a vegetable peeler and cut them into chunks.
  2. Cut the apple into chunks; peel if desired.
  3. Place the turnip and apple chunks in a pot with margarine, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the turnip chunks are tender.
  5. Serve hot.
