Ingredients

  • 5 sausage patties, fully cooked and diced
  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. shortening

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Mix self-rising flour and shortening until crumbly.
  3. Blend buttermilk into the flour mixture with a fork.
  4. Add diced sausage to the mixture and continue blending with a fork.
  5. Add more flour if the mixture is too sticky.
  6. Knead the dough and roll it out into a flat 1/2-inch thick sheet.
  7. Cut into desired shapes or roll out as needed.
  8. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
