A warming, aromatic hot drink blending Irish whiskey, red wine, citrus, and spices, perfect for cozy evenings or festive gatherings with rich, spiced flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pt. Irish whiskey
  • 1/2 bottle red wine
  • 5/8 cup water
  • 2 oz. superfine sugar
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 sweet orange
  • 1 lemon
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Stick the cloves in the orange and roast in a fireplace or bake in the oven.
  2. Put small quantities of spices in a pan with water and boil.
  3. Heat the red wine, but do not boil.
  4. Add superfine sugar, juice from the lemon, and the lemon itself.
  5. Leave on the stove for 10 minutes.
  6. Strain the mixture and add nutmeg. Serve piping hot.
