Ingredients

  • 18 oz. chocolate cake mix without pudding
  • 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large package instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 container chocolate Cool Whip
  • 1 cup Angel Flake coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blend the cake mix, cherry pie filling, vegetable oil, almond flavoring, and eggs on low speed for 1 minute, then beat on medium-high speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl frequently.
  3. Pour batter into a greased and floured 14 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes.
  5. Cool completely in the pan.
  6. Leave the cake in the pan for serving.
