Ingredients

  • 12 lb. blackberries
  • 1 qt. boiling water
  • 5 oz. tart acid berries
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly crush the blackberries.
  2. Pour boiling water over the crushed berries.
  3. Let the mixture stand overnight for 12 hours.
  4. Strain the mixture through a flour sack and let it drain thoroughly without squeezing.
  5. To each measure of the strained liquid, add the same amount of sugar.
  6. Add the tart acid to the mixture.
  7. Put the mixture in a container and seal.
