Ingredients

  • 10 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup lard
  • 1/2 cup sugar or honey
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons yeast
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups scalded milk

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar or honey, salt, yeast, water, and scalded milk in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix until well combined and the dough is smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size.
  4. Work the dough down, shape it as desired, and place in a greased baking pan.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
