Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • sugar
  • very warm water
  • yeast
  • margarine
  • salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add very warm water and margarine; stir until well blended, about 1 minute.
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups flour; stir vigorously for 2 minutes.
  4. Add additional 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups flour to make a soft dough.
  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
  6. Spray dough with Pam; cover with a bowl. Let rest 10 minutes.
  7. Punch down the dough; divide into 2 pieces.
  8. Roll each piece to an 11 x 7-inch rectangle.
  9. Roll up tightly from the short end, pinch seam to seal, and place seam side down in a sprayed loaf pan.
  10. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  11. Bake in a 375°F oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
  12. Cool on wire rack.
