Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Combine eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, and milk in a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour the mixture into 6 to 8 custard cups.
  3. Place the cups on folded paper towel in a frying pan with a tight-fitting lid.
  4. Pour cold water into the pan to half the height of the cups.
  5. Bring the water to a boil.
  6. Remove the pan from heat.
  7. Allow the custards to steam until set, about 15 minutes.
  8. Ensure water doesn't drip into the custards when removing the lid.
