- Combine 1 1/2 cups flour and yeast in a mixing bowl.
- Heat milk, oleo (margarine), sugar, and salt until warm.
- Add the flour mixture and mashed potatoes to the warm mixture.
- Beat with a mixer for 30 seconds on low, then 3 minutes on high.
- Stir in the remaining flour with a spoon until dough forms.
- Cover and chill for 2 hours or overnight.
- Stir down the dough, then roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Cut with a doughnut cutter.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
- Dip in donut glaze before serving.
