  1. Wash the oranges and lemons, then slice them into paper-thin strips.
  2. Put the seeds in a small cheesecloth bag.
  3. Measure the fruit and for every cupful, add 2 cups of water.
  4. Put the seed bag into the mixture for extra flavor.
  5. Let the mixture stand for 24 hours.
  6. Remove the seed bag, then cook the fruit until tender and let it cool.
  7. Measure the cooked fruit and add an equal amount of sugar.
  8. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens.
  9. Pour the hot marmalade into sterile jars immediately.
