- Wash the oranges and lemons, then slice them into paper-thin strips.
- Put the seeds in a small cheesecloth bag.
- Measure the fruit and for every cupful, add 2 cups of water.
- Put the seed bag into the mixture for extra flavor.
- Let the mixture stand for 24 hours.
- Remove the seed bag, then cook the fruit until tender and let it cool.
- Measure the cooked fruit and add an equal amount of sugar.
- Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens.
- Pour the hot marmalade into sterile jars immediately.
