Ingredients

  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 3/4 c. plain flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Instructions

  1. Heat waffle iron.
  2. Beat Large eggs, then beat in remaining ingredients with rotary beater till smooth.
  3. To use waffles for dessert, use this topping: 1 qt sliced strawberries or possibly 2 pkgs.
  4. frzn sliced thawed and liquid removed strawberries in chilled bowl.
  5. Beat 1 c. chilled whipping cream and 2 Tbsp.
  6. confectioners sugar till stiff.
  7. Top waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.
