- Cream butter.
- Add sugar; mix well.
- Add beaten egg yolks; blend until light yellow.
- Sift flour 3 times.
- Add a little flour and milk alternately until you have used 2/3 of the flour.
- Mix baking powder with remainder of the flour; continue with the rest of the milk.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla.
- Use 9-inch pans.
- Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost with favorite icing.
