- Caramelize 1 cup sugar.
- In large pan, boil 2 cups sugar and milk.
- Pour caramelized sugar into boiling mixture in slow steady stream.
- Cook to a steady stream.
- Remove from heat; add soda, butter, cream, vanilla and nuts.
- Stir until glossy appearance becomes dull.
- Drop on wax paper and cool.
