Cabbage Salad(Pickled Cabbage)

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 large onions
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3/4 c. salad oil

Instructions

  1. Bring
  2. vinegar,
  3. salt, celery seed and dry mustard to a boil. Add
  4. oil
  5. to
  6. vinegar
  7. mixture; do not boil.
  8. Pour over cabbage and
  9. onions.
  10. Let
  11. stand
  12. at
  13. least 8 hours, stirring often. Serves 8 to 12 and keeps several days.
