A rich, chewy candy loaf with sweetened condensed milk, dates, and nuts or coconut, perfect for sharing as a decadent treat or gift.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup rich milk (Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk)
  • 1 package dates, chopped
  • 1 cup pecans and/or coconut

Instructions

  1. Cook sugar and milk until they form a soft ball in water.
  2. Add chopped dates and beat until thick.
  3. Add pecans and/or coconut.
  4. Have a tea towel soaked in cold water.
  5. Wring out the towel and spread the mixture on it.
  6. Roll the mixture in the towel into approximately a 1-inch rope.
  7. Let it cool, then slice.
