Ingredients

  • 16 oz. large puffed cheese curls
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup oleo
  • 1/2 cup dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda

Instructions

  1. Put cheese curls in a large turkey roaster.
  2. Combine brown sugar, oleo, and Karo syrup in a saucepan and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Add soda to the sugar mixture and stir well.
  4. Pour the sugar mixture over the cheese curls and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Bake at 250°F for 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes.
  6. Dump out onto a counter and separate the mixture.
  7. Let cool, then store in an airtight container.
