Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 3 qt. salted popped corn
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. mixed salted nuts

Instructions

  1. In a large, heavy saucepan, combine the butter or margarine, corn syrup, and sugar.
  2. Stir until blended.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Clip a candy thermometer on the side of the pan.
  5. Continue simmering slowly until the syrup reaches the hard crack stage (300° to 310°).
