- Steam carrots.
- In a 10-inch skillet, melt butter.
- Add onions and cook over moderate heat.
- Cover until they are transparent, about 10 minutes.
- Add apple slices and cover.
- Continue to cook, just until tender, but still hold their shape, about 5 minutes, depends on variety of apples used.
- Drain carrots and add carrots to skillet; stir in lemon juice, salt and pepper; reheat.
- Yields 6 servings.
