Ingredients

  • 1 package pie crust mix
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 5 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Empty pie crust mix into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add shredded Cheddar cheese and mix in with a fork.
  3. Sprinkle cold water over one tablespoon at a time. Mix lightly with a fork just until mixture holds together and leaves sides of the bowl clean.
  4. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
  5. Cut rings with a small doughnut cutter or two different sizes of round cutters.
  6. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2-inch wide strips about 6 inches long.
  7. Twist strips once or twice and place 1 inch apart on large cookie sheets.
  8. Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove carefully and cool on wire racks.
  10. When cool, thread 2 or 3 strips through each ring and arrange on serving dish.
