Ingredients

  • 1 small box cherry Jell-O
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the small box of cherry Jell-O in 3/4 cup of boiling water.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of cold water to the dissolved Jell-O mixture and set aside.
  3. Mix the yellow cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Cool the cake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. Poke holes through the top of the warm cake using a fork or skewer.
  6. Pour the prepared Jell-O mixture into the holes in the cake.
  7. Place the cake in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the topping.
