- Dissolve the small box of cherry Jell-O in 3/4 cup of boiling water.
- Add 1/2 cup of cold water to the dissolved Jell-O mixture and set aside.

- Cool the cake for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Poke holes through the top of the warm cake using a fork or skewer.
