Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 small box vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 sticks oleo
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yellow cake mix as directed on the box.
  2. Pour the batter into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. While the cake is baking, prepare the vanilla pudding using 1 cup of milk.
  4. Allow the cake and pudding to cool completely.
  5. Cream 1 3/4 sticks of oleo and 1 cup of granulated sugar for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the cooled pudding to the creamed mixture and continue beating for 5 more minutes until light and fluffy.
  7. Spread the icing over the cooled cake.
  8. Top the cake with cherry pie filling and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
