Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. With an electric beater, mix until very stiff the egg whites, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cream of tartar.
  2. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  3. Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Turn the mixture into the pan, forming a nest on the bottom and up the sides.
  5. Bake at 300°F for 55 minutes.
  6. Cool before serving.
