Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold milk

Instructions

  1. Scald the 1 3/4 cups of milk in the top of a double boiler over direct heat.
  2. Mix the 2 tablespoons of cocoa, 6 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/4 cup of cold milk slowly, stirring all the time, to make a smooth paste.
  3. Combine the scalded milk with the cocoa mixture and cook over hot water, stirring constantly until the pudding thickens.
  4. Remove from the fire and chill before serving.
