Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. water, warmed
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • Vegetable spray

Instructions

  1. Heat milk to 120 degrees.
  2. Melt butter in microwave.
  3. Sift together salt and flour.
  4. Combine yeast, warmed water and sugar. Combine milk and butter and add to flour mixture.
  5. Add dissolved yeast mixture and combine.
  6. Knead for 5 minutes, then turn dough onto floured surface.
  7. Spray bowl with vegetable spray and add dough.
  8. Cover bowl with a tea towel and place in a warm spot for 45 minutes or until dough has doubled.
  9. Punch down and turn onto floured surface.
  10. Roll dough until 1/2-inch thick.
  11. Pinch pieces of dough and roll into 1-inch balls.
  12. Spray muffin pan with vegetable spray and place 3 balls into one muffin cup.
  13. Allow dough to rise to rise approximately 30 minutes.
  14. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
  15. Yields 24 rolls.
