Cornstarch Dough

A versatile and fun craft dough made from cornstarch and baking soda, perfect for creating lightweight shapes and decorations that dry overnight and can be painted or sealed.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • 2 c. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. cold water

Instructions

  1. Mix cornstarch, baking soda, and water in a pan.
  2. Cook on stove over medium heat for 4 minutes.
  3. Stir constantly until mashed potato consistency is reached.
  4. Remove from heat and cover with a damp cloth to cool for 1 hour.
  5. Knead on wax paper and roll out with a rolling pin.
  6. Cut into shapes and let dry overnight.
  7. Paint and seal with a coat of Elmer's glue.
  8. Attach to pin backing or poke a hole before drying for a necklace.
