Ingredients

  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 qt. popped corn
  • 1 c. Spanish peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a brown paper bag by spraying with Pam until well coated.
  2. Place the following in a 4-cup glass bowl:
  3. brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt.
  4. Microwave on High until it is boiling.
  5. Continue cooking after reaching the boil stage for 2 minutes.
  6. Add soda and stir well (mixture will be foamy).
  7. Place popped corn and peanuts in bag and pour syrup over corn; shake well.
  8. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and shake.
  9. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and shake, then microwave for 3 seconds.
  10. Shake and pour on cookie sheet to cool.
