Crayon Soap

Create colorful, soap-like crayons that are fun for children to make and use, offering a safe, washable alternative to traditional crayons with a playful twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. Ivory Snow soap
  • a scant 1/4 c. warm water
  • food coloring

Instructions

  1. Have your child measure the Ivory Snow soap into a bowl.
  2. Add warm water and stir to remove all lumps.
  3. The mixture may seem dry, but it will eventually come together.
  4. Add a heavy dose of food coloring until the color looks right.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a muffin tin to dry.
  6. Make additional batches for different colors.
  7. Allow the crayons to dry for 1 to 2 days until firm.
  8. Pop the crayons out of the muffin tin when they are firm to the touch.
  9. Use the crayon soap to wash all surfaces, including skin, with a wet washcloth.
