Crispy chocolate snacks combine crunchy cereal and nuts coated in smooth chocolate, creating a sweet treat perfect for parties, snacking, or gifting loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 cups Wheaties Honey Gold cereal
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat shortening and chocolate chips in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in cereal and chopped nuts until well coated.
  4. Firmly press the mixture into an ungreased 9 x 9 x 2-inch square pan.
  5. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm.
  6. Cut into about 1 1/2-inch squares.
  7. Store in refrigerator.
