Cucumber Crisp Pickles

Ingredients

  • 8 lb. cucumbers, sliced
  • 3 c. pickling lime
  • 5 lb. sugar
  • 4 pt. apple vinegar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • allspice
  • ground cloves
  • ginger
  • 2 gal. water

Instructions

  1. Make a syrup of 5 pounds sugar to 4 pints of apple vinegar. Tie cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves and ginger in a bag.
  2. Add to syrup.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook to dissolve sugar.
  4. Soak cucumbers in lime water about 10 to 12 hours (overnight).
