Ingredients

  • 2 gallons fresh cucumbers
  • 2 gallons cold water
  • 1 cup lime
  • 5 pounds sugar
  • 1/2 gallon white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons pickling spice

Instructions

  1. Peel and seed the cucumbers, then cut them into strips.
  2. Put the cucumber strips in a churn or large container, cover with water and lime.
  3. Let stand overnight.
  4. Rinse the cucumber strips three times in cold water.
  5. Let stand in ice water for 4 hours.
