Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 4 oz. jar strawberry preserves

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add yolks and beat well.
  3. Add the flour gradually, mixing well.
  4. Add vanilla and nuts.
  5. Spread 1/2 batter into a greased 8 x 8 pan and top with preserves.
  6. Cover with remaining batter and bake 1 hour or until top crust is light brown at 325 degrees.
  7. Cool well before cutting.
