Instructions
- Bring to boil the lard and molasses and cool.
- Add the sugar and eggs.
- Sift together dry ingredients of flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg.
- Add to boiled mixture. Chill.
- Roll into strips like a thick pencil; cut in 1/4 inch chunks.
- Scatter on cookie sheet and bake at 350° until golden brown.
- Use very little flour to roll them in.
- Do not let the bits touch each other on the baking pan.
