David'S Favorite (Easy) Cornbread

- Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
- Add corn meal. Separately beat egg, then add milk.
- Melt 3 tablespoons butter in 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan in preheated 425° oven (about 3 minutes).
- Coat pan with melted butter.
- Pour remainder over dry mixture.
- Add milk and egg mixture.
- Mix with spoon until thoroughly moistened.
- Don't overdo! Pour into pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean (crisp top; not too dark).
