Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 slightly beaten egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Melt butter.
  2. Blend in cornstarch, sugar, and salt.
  3. Gradually add milk.
  4. Heat to boiling over direct heat.
  5. Stir into slightly beaten egg yolks.
  6. Return to heat and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Add vanilla and cool thoroughly.
