Ingredients

  • long stemmed fresh mint
  • bourbon whiskey (2 oz. per drink)
  • water
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Pull off the bottom leaves of the long stemmed mint.
  2. Crush the mint leaves and drop them into a pitcher.
  3. Add bourbon whiskey to the pitcher.
  4. Mix sugar and water to make a syrup with a thick consistency, then add lemon juice.
  5. Use 2 teaspoons of syrup for each ounce of whiskey.
  6. Stir the mixture as you go to combine flavors.
  7. Pour 2 to 3 ounces of the mixture into the bottom of each glass.
  8. Pack each glass tightly with crushed ice.
  9. Stir vigorously until the glass is frosted.
  10. Garnish with a sprig of mint, pinching the mint to release aroma.
  11. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your Mint Julep!
