Doodle-Bug Eggs

Ingredients

  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 egg
  • margarine
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. When Jim's son, Jeremy, was 3 or 4 years old, he watched while his daddy cooked doodle-bug eggs for him.
  2. Jim put some margarine in a frying pan and while it was melting, he took a slice of bread and folded it in half.
  3. He took a bite from the middle, making a hole in the center of the slice, entertaining Jeremy in doing this.
  4. He put the slice in the frying pan, broke an egg in the hole and cooked for a minute or so each side.
  5. Jeremy was delighted with his doodle-bug egg.
