Instructions
- Simmer first 3 ingredients together 30 minutes.
- Mash and measure 1/2 cup pulp.
- Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly, add yolks and vanilla;
- beat.
- Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with water and pulp.
- Bake in a cake pan (8x8 inches), lined with waxed paper, at 350° for 45 minutes.
