Ingredients

  • 1/2 gal. whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into a saucepan.
  2. Add several drops of lemon juice and cook over low heat until curdling occurs.
  3. Add cinnamon and vanilla to the mixture.
  4. Continue to cook over low heat, allowing the milk to curdle and thicken.
  5. Add sugar to the mixture.
  6. Simmer until the mixture is moist but not soupy, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
