Earth Grains Bread
Earthy and hearty, this whole wheat and rye bread combines oats and sunflower seeds for a wholesome, flavorful loaf perfect for breakfast, sandwiches, or snacking.

Instructions
- Combine evaporated milk and water in a large bowl.
- Heat mixture to 105° to 115° Fahrenheit.
- Dissolve dry yeast in the warm mixture.
- Add brown sugar, oats, salt, whole wheat flour, rye flour, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour and sunflower seeds. Stir vigorously for 1 minute.
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups of additional flour to make a stiff dough.
- Knead on a floured surface, adding remaining flour until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
- Place dough in a buttered bowl, brush the top with butter, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
- Punch down the dough.
- Divide into 2 loaves, place in greased loaf pans.
- Brush the tops with milk and let rise until doubled in bulk.
- Bake in a slow oven at 325°F (160°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until the loaves sound hollow when tapped.
