Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cocoa
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 1/2 cups of granulated sugar, 1 1/2 cups of cocoa, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of hot water in a three-quart saucepan and stir until smooth.
  2. Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of hot water and stir well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Boil for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir.
  7. Pour into a jar with a tight lid and store in the refrigerator.
