- Place yeast in 1 cup of warm water with 2 tablespoons of the sugar.
- Then add second cup of water.
- Then stir in egg, sugar and salt.
- Next blend in flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally stir in oil slowly and mix.
- Cover and let double in bulk (about 1 hour), punch down.
- Put into loaf pans and let rise an hour or double.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
- Turn oven up to 425° to brown.
