Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 c. flour
  • 6 Tbsp. oil

Instructions

  1. Place yeast in 1 cup of warm water with 2 tablespoons of the sugar.
  2. Then add second cup of water.
  3. Then stir in egg, sugar and salt.
  4. Next blend in flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally stir in oil slowly and mix.
  5. Cover and let double in bulk (about 1 hour), punch down.
  6. Put into loaf pans and let rise an hour or double.
  7. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  8. Turn oven up to 425° to brown.
