Ingredients

  • 3 lb. frying chicken, cut up
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. dry red wine

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt and pepper.
  2. Use it to flour chicken. Melt butter in a large pan.
  3. Brown the chicken well, then add the wine (enough to cover the chicken).
  4. Cover and let simmer for about 50 minutes.
  5. Drain mushrooms and add to chicken a few minutes before serving.
  6. Serve with baked potatoes, tossed salad, hot French bread and wine.
