Ingredients

  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 7 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • pinch of saffron and cardamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Mix the dry and wet ingredients separately and then slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry, mixing well.
  3. Spread batter into a greased and floured baking pan. Place in oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
