Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • cinnamon sticks
  • 8 to 10 cloves
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • rind of 1 lemon or orange

Instructions

  1. Add water, cinnamon sticks, cloves, sugar, and lemon/orange rind to a pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Add the bottle of red wine to the boiling mixture.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Strain the beverage before serving.
