Ingredients

  • 4 (7 oz.) filet mignon
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 cup liquid beef stock
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and then add the filet mignons.
  3. Cook until medium rare; set aside in a warm place.
  4. Add sliced shiitake mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until limp.
  5. Set the mushrooms aside and keep warm.
